You Do Not Need To Rush Your Becoming

Not everything meaningful happens quickly. Some of the most important shifts take place slowly, quietly, and without much outward proof at first.

There is a lot of pressure to become quickly.

To heal quickly.
To decide quickly.
To move on quickly.

To know exactly where your life is going and to present that certainty as if it arrived naturally.

But real growth does not always look like that.

Sometimes it looks uncertain for a while. Sometimes it looks like repeating the same lesson in slightly different clothes.

Sometimes it looks like standing in a place that no longer fits while still not knowing what comes next.

That does not mean nothing is happening.

It usually means something is changing beneath the surface before it has language, shape, or proof you can point to.

A lot of people are harder on themselves during these seasons because they mistake slowness for failure. They think if it were real, it would be obvious by now. If they were doing well, they would already be further ahead. If something mattered, it would have moved faster.

That is not always how life works.

Some changes need time because they are not just about action. They are about internal rearrangement. They are about capacity, safety, honesty, grief, readiness, and all the quiet things that do not show up on a timeline in a neat and impressive way.

You can be changing even while your life still looks familiar. You can be growing even while you are moving carefully. You can be becoming someone new long before other people can see it clearly.

There is a version of progress that the internet likes because it is easy to display. It is clean, visible, and easy to narrate. But there is another version that matters just as much. The one where your standards are changing. The one where you are noticing what drains you sooner. The one where you are less willing to abandon yourself just to keep things comfortable for other people.

That kind of progress can be hard to measure. It is still progress.

Sometimes the bravest thing is not pushing harder. Sometimes it is staying with the slow, honest work of letting something unfold without trying to force it into a more impressive shape.

Not every season is for acceleration. Some are for understanding. Some are for recovery. Some are for learning how to trust your own pace after years of measuring yourself against urgency.

There is nothing weak about a slower becoming. There is nothing lesser about a life that changes quietly. And there is no prize for arriving in a way that costs you your steadiness.

If your life feels in-between right now, that does not automatically mean you are behind. It may simply mean you are in the middle of something that needs more gentleness than speed.

You do not need to rush your becoming to prove that it is real.

Sometimes the deepest shifts happen quietly enough that you only recognise them when you look back and realise you no longer fit the life, thought pattern, or fear you once called home.

Closing Thought

If this met you in the middle of your own in-between season, stay close. DPG will keep making space for the quieter kinds of progress too.
